Armco Park opened in June 1935 and remains in the same location in Summit, Kentucky, opposite Crisp’s Dairy Bar. The park was named for the American Rolling Mill Company (ARMCO). ARMCO purchased the land for the park in 1921. The Park is now owned by Boyd County with a portion sold to the Kentucky State Police.
Some of the amenities that the park currently offers are hiking on the Iron Ore Trail, disc golf on one of the many courses. A war memorial was dedicated in 1992 to those who served their country in the Armed Forces. Armco park is home to a fourteen-foot tall hand-carved wooden statue of sasquatch, a younger sasquatch, and a bear statue. Many people still cook out and picnic at the park.
